In the late 90's, DeWolfe was using a number of unrelated systems to accomplish what just one could more efficiently perform. "During peak periods additional resources were required to sustain our operations," said DeWolfe CFO, Jim Marcotte. It quickly became evident that while the company was growing, its software was not. "DeWolfe is very involved within our industry, and after extensive research we found there was no industry-specific solution," said Marcotte. "We determined that we needed to bring the technology to a new level." DeWolfe began researching the availability of software that would fit into their existing Oracle environment and grow with the company. They soon realized the most viable option was Databyte and Flexx. "No one had the canned product we could take off the shelf and install. We realized that if we were going to do this we would have to look at who we could partner with," said Marcotte. As the author of Flexx, Databyte was able to customize software specifically for DeWolfe. The result was WolfeNet, a transaction processing system that has streamlined processes and created significant efficiencies. Data that once took days to process is now available for review the next business day—all without adding a single employee. "We can easily handle the volume, in fact we have excess capacity because the system is scalable," concludes Marcotte. "We are now able to maintain a consistent cost structure through all seasons and anticipate company growth."
