What support does Databyte provide?

Databyte provides a full range of support options. Support begins during the sales cycle when our analyst team reviews the particular needs of the customer and maps out a solution to achieve the best computing environment. Databyte then provides a comprehensive on-site training and implementation schedule.
Databyte's staff are able to convert existing systems or develop new ones to the customer's specific requirements. Ongoing Operational & Help Desk support is available. Databyte also provides upgrade assistance for customers to take advantage of new features in the most current Flexx software.

How do we transition from our present software to FLEXX?

The transition process is unique to every customer. Databyte works with your staff to determine a complete implementation plan outlining tasks, dates and available resources. Once a plan is agreed, Databyte helps manage the process and handle issues such as data migration and parallel operations to minimize business interruption.

How easy is FLEXX to use?

Flexx is a graphically based system. All interaction with the system is through carefully designed screens. Databyte takes pride in our screen design; a unique distinction between Flexx and our competitor's products. Flexx achieves an excellent balance between functionality, ease of use and aesthetics and provides users with a consistent interface, carefully considered workflows and navigation aids.
For example, every field has two levels of help and every source field has drill-down abilities back to the original referenced data. Flexx also provides an extensive search and find feature with most screens doubling-up as query tools. This reduces the application overhead by using a multi-purpose interface and optimizes the application's interface, none of which is available from competitive products. This allows users to become comfortable with Flexx and it's features much faster.

What do I need to run FLEXX?

Flexx operates in a wide array of configurations such as; WANs, LANs,
Thin Client, Fat Client, Citrix environment, stand-alone, or virtually any combination.
There are three major components to Flexx: Client, RDBMS and Report Server. Flexx client systems support a Windows 2000 or XP system. Flexx supports two RDBMS platforms - Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle in either a Microsoft Windows or a Unix/Linux environment. The Report Server is supported on Windows 2000.
Hardware specification guidelines are available upon request from Databyte.

Data integrity is critical. How reliable and secure is FLEXX?

Flexx is engineered to ensure the highest levels of data integrity available with the two database environments. All data updates are done under transaction control to ensure they are always done correctly. The database structure ensures that your data is managed with state-of-the-art tools that are tested for reliability.
Network and configuration requirements are kept minimal which further fosters a stable and high availability environment and should things go wrong, the system design isolates the problem to reduce impact on other users. Data security is maintained through password controls and encryption providing high levels of security in all sensitive areas. Users can be individually restricted to their areas of operation, ensuring your internal security exposure is kept to a manageable level.

What archiving and retrieval capabilities does FLEXX have?

As a business operates, large amounts of data are produced. This data can be viewed as being either current or historical and while it is nice having all historical data available on line, its volume can slow down a system and clutter information presented to your users. Flexx addresses this problem through the innovative Data Warehousing module. By using Flexx Data Warehousing, historical data can be removed from the current set ensuring optimal performance for everyday operations.
Users can then access either the current or 'warehoused' data simply by clicking an option box. All the normal screens are used to view both modes, reducing learning time and keeping everything familiar to your operators.

What presentation software is FLEXX compatible with?

Flexx is compatible with a wide variety of third party presentation products including Microsoft Excel, Access and Crystal Reports. If the product can access a standard ODBC database, it can work with Flexx. This opens the doors to thousands of products—report writers, spreadsheets, trend analysis tools, power point slide productions, web queries and displays, financial statement generators and many more!
